8th grade students in Mrs. Shoemaker's Spanish Class made papel picado (or punched paper). Papel Picado is made with colorful paper and the design is cut into it similar to cutting a snowflake. The pieces are strung together and used to decorate altars during Día de los Muertos and also as street decorations during festivals.
