Virtual Academy students learned about radial design in art class led by Mrs. Greiss. Radial design is when elements originate from the central point and extend outwards toward the edge. Our students based their design on what they are thankful for. Thank you Mrs. Greiss!
The Virtual Academy took a field trip to Savidge Farms. Students had the opportunity to learn about how pumpkins are planted, cultivated, and harvested. We had fun in the corn maze, picking our own pumpkins, and learning to identify different varieties of pumpkins.
Today, for National Principals Month, we’re thrilled to introduce Ms. Kelly, our beloved Elementary School Principal! With 17 years in the district, Ms. Kelly knows every single student by name, making each child feel seen, valued, and supported. From creating lifelong memories through mentorship programs to building connections with families, her dedication shines every day. Ms. Kelly truly believes every child deserves a champion—and she’s that champion for all our young learners!

Driven by his belief in being the positive change he wishes to see, Mr. Romberger is all about creating a supportive, engaging environment where students and staff feel at home. We need your help to honor the incredible educators who make a difference in your child’s life every day. The Pennsylvania Department of Education is now accepting nominations for the 2026 Teacher of the Year award, and we encourage you to nominate a teacher who has positively impacted your family.
If you know a teacher who inspires, motivates, and supports students, please consider submitting a nomination by December 16, 2024. We would kindly ask that you notify ginobe@bhasd.org (Subject: PA Teacher of the Year NOMINATION) if you nominate one of our excellent staff. The District will be asked to provide follow up information and it would be helpful to know if one of our staff members are nominated in advance.

This Friday, October 25, from 6-8 PM, join us at Brandywine Heights High School for the annual Halloweentown, hosted by the BHHS Student Council and sponsored with high school clubs! Bring the family out for a night of indoor trick-or-treating, crafts, games, and all-around fun.

Mrs. Levengood's 4th and 5th grade classes set up their very own AcuRite Iris Weather Station. This was provided to the class by the Civil Air Patrol STEM program. Students learned to program, calibrate, and discuss implementation plans with Mr. Molitoris. Their goal is to provide accurate weather reports for BBN and the building and grounds crew at BHASD.
Yesterday, our amazing staff showed up in their Breast Cancer Awareness shirts to support one of our teachers as she began her treatment. While she’s facing a tough journey, she’s staying strong, and we’re standing with her every step of the way. Our thoughts are with her and her family, and we are so proud to be part of a community that lifts each other up in times like these. #BHASD #StrongerTogether #BreastCancerAwareness
The virtual academy students explored buoyancy and Archimedes' principle while engaging in hands-on experiments illustrating how objects behave in fluids. By testing various materials in water, they discovered that the buoyant force acting on an object is equal to the weight of the fluid it displaces.

This supportive event is designed to connect families with valuable resources, information, and community services that may benefit them as a parent of a child with special needs.
The Virtual Academy's New Heights Award Winner for September is Madeline Roibu. Madeline exemplifies BHASD P.R.O.U.D. with her responsibility and adaptability as she successfully manages her hybrid schedule, which includes Virtual Academy courses and BHHS classes for music lessons and concert band. Congratulations Madeline!

Budgeting and managing money can be overwhelming topics! Looking for strategies to building financial wealth can be daunting in today’s economy. To that end, we are excited to share an opportunity to learn about these topics with our school community. Brandywine Heights Area School District in conjunction with the Brandywine Heights Education Foundation and are thrilled to host the New York Life Insurance Company and the Brian Dawkins Impact Foundation on September 26th at 6:30PM at the Brandywine Heights High School Auditorium. The Camp SPARK summer program is off to a fabulous start. Students are reading and participating in math activities related to the Around the Campfire theme. From marshmallow paintings to creating mini campfires, students have excitedly participated.
