The lost and found is accumulating more items. Please ask your child to check the lost and found in the cafeteria is they are missing a coat, hoodie, waterbottle, or lunchbox. These pics are shown on morning announcements and scroll on the TVs at school, but if you notice an item that belongs to your child, please let them know to look for it. Thank you for your help:)

5th Graders are off to camp! We have three beautiful days ahead of us to enjoy this wonderful outdoor experience!
Last night at the October School Board meeting, the architecture firm from the IS/MS renovation project (KCBA) presented the Brandywine Heights Education Foundation with a donation of $10,000. Thank you to KCBA Architects for their generosity.
The students in Mrs. Hook's science class had fun learning about the Rock Cycle using candy. They weathered three igneous rocks (airheads), turning them into sediment. That sediment then was dropped in layers and compacted, forming a sedimentary rock. Then the fun began...they students applied great pressure to the sedimentary rock and turned it into a metamorphic rock...which they could then enjoy as a tasty treat.

Next time you are on one of our school campuses, check out the beautiful new BHASD avenue banners proudly identifying each building. A huge thank you to our Buidlings & Grounds staff for installing the new banners on lamp posts along the driveways leading to each building.
BHASD students had the exciting opportunity to line the escort route for The Wall That Heals. Our students waved flags and cheered as the convoy drove through Topton this afternoon. Our Sophomore class at the High School will visit the Wall later this week to coincide with their studies of the Vietnam War.

During our 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony, Mr. Riggins shared a beautiful message of how our nation came together to heal, help, and honor first responders who risk their lives every day to keep us safe. Congratulations to Mr. John Scheetz for receiving the 2023 Commitment to Community Award.
The Pennsylvania State Police will be holding the annual Sunny Day Camp on Saturday, October 21, 2023. Children and adults with special needs, or disabilities and their families are invited to participate. Please see the attached flyer for additional details.

Mrs. Remp's 4th graders were geologists today and went on a "Weathering Scavenger Hunt" to look for signs of weathering! They drew pictures and described what they as they found evidence. Hands on learning and lots of smiles:)
We are excited to share that on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, The Wall That Heals will be traveling through the School District! The escort will leave Fleetwood at approximately 1PM and travel through the Borough of Topton as it makes its way to Kutztown Park! Our student body will line the escort route to welcome the convoy and on Friday, September 22, 2023, our Sophomore class of the High School will visit the Wall to coincide with their studies of the Vietnam War.
Mrs. Hook's 4th graders used the Design Process to try to create a paper airplane that would fly the farthest. They planned, designed, tested their prototypes, redesigned, and retested to see if their improvements worked. Students used critical thinking skills and very resilient as they problem solved through failure to improve their flight.
It feels so good to have the students back! The halls are alive again with conversation and laugher! The students and staff had an amazing first 3 days getting to know one another, setting expectations, and assisting students throughout the building. We can't wait to see you back on Monday! #BulletPROUD
