🍏 First Grade Apple Day 🍎

Math Holiday of the Month!
Did you know that September 25th is Math Storytelling Day? Our students worked to solve some problems from Bedtime Math this month! If you haven’t checked it out before, the website and free app use fun and engaging stories to help students practice their math skills!
You can also check out DREME: Development and Research in Early Mathematics Education- https://dreme.stanford.edu/news/40-childrens-books-that-foster-a-love-of-math/ for a list of some great math picture books!

Bullet Academy Play and Learn - The children enjoyed listening to "The Very Hungry Caterpillar's First Fall", exploring fall nature items with magnifying glasses, and free playtime. Thank you to all who attended.

Mrs. Lewis' second graders researched apples and wrote their very own informational paragraph about apples! Did you know there are over 7,500 apple varieties around the world? 🍎

Thank you to the VSP Vision Eyes of Hope Mobile Eye Care Clinic for volunteering their time and services in our district over the past two days.
Through their efforts, 67 individuals – including students, family members, and community members – received eye screenings, with 47 prescriptions for glasses provided. This generous support helps ensure our students and families have access to the resources they need to thrive.
Clear vision = brighter futures. We’re so grateful for this partnership!

Picture day at the Elementary School is tomorrow. Please see the attached flyer for ordering information! 📸

In Explore, Third grade kicked off Fairy Tale STEM challenges. They had Jack and the Beanstalk! They planted seeds in the hydroponic planters and successfully built bean stalks for their castles to sit on top of!

Pre-K Price learned about the US Constitution on Constitution Day. We talked about why we have classroom rules, what we could do to be a good citizen and we used feather quills and ink to sign our names, just like the Founding Fathers did when they signed the Constitution.

Congratulations to this week's Bucket Fillers! Keep up the amazing work! 🪣 🎉

This week, our students began their reading and math target times. These parts of the day allow teachers to hone in on skills students need to continue to grow their skill sets. From the looks of it, students are having fun and working hard! Be sure to ask your child what they did during their target times today! 📖✏️🧠💪🏼

Early Dismissal Tomorrow!
Please plan ahead—dismissal will follow the adjusted schedule (please see ES for car pick-up/walker times).
Thanks for your support and flexibility!

The art room has been filled with LINES! Kindergarten and first grade students explored drawing and painting various types of lines like zig-zag, curvy and even fancy! Third grade students learned how to use lines to create three dimensional forms. They used this knowledge to draw and paint creative pencils and even added shadows! ✏️🎨🖌️
