Sarah Soffa -  Athletic Director

The Brandywine Heights Area School District is happy to announce the appointment of the new Athletic Director, Miss. Sarah Soffa. Sarah is a Brandywine Heights Alum, has been a part of the BHASD staff for the past year and is very excited to continue her work at Brandywine Heights as the new Athletic Director. Sarah is going to be a great asset to not only the Athletic Department but the Brandywine Heights Area School District as a whole. Please read a little bit about Sarah below to get to know her better!


I grew up in:

  • Bechtelsville, PA 

My family: 

  • I am fortunate to have two highly supportive parents, Matt and Sheryl, and a fantastic younger sister Leslie. Additionally, I will be getting married in October to my fiancé, Collin. I would not be able to take on the Athletic Director role without Collin's support. There are a lot of late nights and long days, and his support and help allow me to be able to do my dream job. 

Education: 

  • Attended Brandywine Heights High School- Graduated in 2015
  • Attended Pennsylvania State University- Berks Campus- B.S. in Kinesiology-Graduated in 2019
  • Attending Concordia University Irvine- M.S. in Coaching & Athletic Administration 

What makes you most excited about being the new Athletic Director:

  • I'm most excited about continuing to work with the Brandywine Heights Student athletes and creating an atmosphere that fosters growth, knowledge, and life experiences they can take with them after they leave the walls of Brandywine Heights! 

As Athletic Director, my vision for the athletic department is:

  • My vision for the Brandywine Heights Athletic Department is to create an atmosphere where all students, coaches, and community members can unite to develop a culture that everyone feels valued and supported and can discover passion and purpose within athletics. My goal is to support not only interscholastic athletes but extend to our local community youth sports and provide assistance to grow our programs from the youth level through to high school.

Things that make me proud to be a part of BHASD: 

  • BHASD has been my home since 1st grade and has provided me countless opportunities to grow as a student and now professionally. I look forward to providing those same opportunities to the students of Brandywine Heights. 
  • Additionally, I look forward to working with the administration team and staff at Brandywine Heights. They are a fantastic group of individuals that want to do what is best for the student-athletes.

  • I have a two-year-old mini labradoodle named Bentley!
