🐐💋 Kissing for a Cause
FFA put a fun spin on giving back! Students collected canned goods, dropping them into boxes labeled with their teachers’ names. The catch? The three teachers with the most donations had to kiss a goat!!
Turns out, Mrs. Paxson, Mrs. Bollinger, and Mr. Strohecker were the lucky winners! (Or unlucky, depending on how you feel about goat smooches.)
Huge thanks to everyone who donated—your support made a difference, and the goat didn’t seem to mind the extra attention either! 🥫🐐

The students in Señora Shoemaker's Spanish 1 and Spanish 3 classes held a food day on Monday.
Students in Spanish 1 created their own menus from a Spanish speaking country that they chose. They then chose a food from their menu to share with the class. We had fruit kabobs with tajin, enchiladas de pollo (chicken enchiladas), desayuno (breakfast), tres leches cake, alfajores (Peruvian cookies), and refrescos (sodas).
In Spanish 3, students used their knowledge of Spanish commands to write recetas (recipes). They used the former FCS kitchen to make empanadas, guacamole, frutillada (fruit smoothie drink), churros, and sopapilla cheesecake.
Everything was muy deliciosa!

🥗 We heard you… and here’s the exciting news! 🥗
Salad bars are just the beginning. Fresh, crisp lettuces, vibrant vegetables, and delicious toppings are now a staple at lunchtime. This is just the first step in our commitment to improving school meals with locally sourced, wholesome ingredients. Stay tuned as we will be releasing a survey soon to solicit ideas on how we can introduce even more nutritious choices that kids genuinely love!
And because March is National Nutrition Month, there’s no better time to celebrate fresh, healthy choices! 🌱
